Day On The Hill 2025
On January 30th, many legislators, HHS staff, child welfare agencies and 30 youth from across the state came together to support Iowa's foster youth. Members from Iowa's foster care youth council, known as AMP (Achieving Maximum Potential), shared their experiences in foster care and advocated for improvements to the Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice system. Check out AMP's website at weareampiowa.com for more information on AMP's 2025 advocacy priorities.

Camps
Each year AMP tries to host at least 5 mini camps throughout the year. This is an opportunity for youth from all over the state to get together and have a day of fun, food, and friends!
Conferences
Conferences are a way to connect with youth and get them ready to tackle their future. AMP holds conferences throughout the year, typically at a college or Job Corps center throughout the state. We want youth to be successful in whatever life path they choose after high school.
Activities
Sometimes you just need a day with your friends. AMP has many activities throughout the year for that reason exactly. We take trips to the Zoo, we head to the farm to interact with animals, we go see movies… the options are endless!
