2026 AMP Annual Conference
Advocacy Events
Each year AMP brings forward youth voice as it relates to the child welfare system. Advocacy events are held in various locations throughout the state. We want youth to feel empowered in personal and professional endeavors
Conferences
Conferences are a way to connect with youth and get them ready to tackle their future. AMP holds conferences throughout the year, typically at a college or Job Corps center throughout the state. We want youth to be successful in whatever life path they choose after high school.
Life Skills
AMP partners with local and statewide agencies to provide life and leadership trainings, many of which, our youth get paid for. We want youth to feel prepared to take on new experiences. Stay up to date with opportunities by checking our website or following us on social media.
Day On The Hill 2026
On January 20th, many legislators, HHS staff, child welfare agencies, and 32 youth from across the state came together to support Iowa's foster youth. Members from Iowa's foster care youth council, known as AMP (Achieving Maximum Potential), shared their experiences in foster care and advocated for improvements to the Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice system. Check out our recap video and our Legislative Agenda of priorities we will be focusing on this year!
